Other Non-League Sport Programs

The Derby Recreation Commission offers non-league sporting opportunities for children who may be interested in other sports involving indoor and outdoor recreation. Programs vary by season.

Here's your chance to learn the lifelong activity of archery.  Safety, proper use of equipment, and plenty of target practice will be the highlights of this three week session. The class will be instructed by a professional shooter. All supplies will be provided for this class. You may bring your own bow to use with instructor approval. Cost for the class is $30. Ages 8-15.

First session will be held from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

Second session will be held from 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.


Disc golf has the same premise as golf but uses a disc (frisbee) in place of a ball. During the clinic, you will learn the fundamentals of the game, starting with the drive and ending with the putt. Participants will also learn the importance of etiquette and safety. Spend an hour learning then play a round of disc golf on the local course. There is no cost for this clinic. The clinic will be held at Stone Creek.


All ages and skill levels welcome! Have fun and build strength as you learn focus, self discipline, and self confidence. Uniform and testing are not required for beginner class. Advanced class is for green belt and above. Ages 5 and older.

Beginner Class will be held at 6 p.m.

Advanced Class will be held at 6:45 p.m.
